Jimmy legged Celiacs? Allergies & depression

I read with interest an article on Celiac.com last week that some research studies had been released on the correlation between Restless leg syndrome (RLS) and Celiac Disease.

The study showed a 31% prevalence of restless leg syndrome among subjects with celiac disease, much higher than the 4% prevalence in the control population.

There was  no significant correlation between RLS and a gluten-free diet or iron metabolism in Celiacs.

I also came across an interesting article on depression.  The article went on about how anti-depressants don’t work (they sure work for me!) and how we ought to get at the root cause.  The root cause, as it turned out, often had to do with food allergies or vitamin deficiencies.  If you or someone you know suffers from depression, a common symptom of Celiac Disease, you should check it out.
