Gluten-free health fair

Choices Markets will host its second annual Gluten Free Health Fair today from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. at its Kelowna store, located at 1937 Harvey Ave.

The event is a fundraiser in support of the local chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association. The goal of the event is to increase awareness for Celiac Disease, while providing much- needed information and support to those living with Celiac Disease and gluten intolerance.

The seminar portion of the event features local health experts, including Choices own dietitian, Desiree Nielsen, as well as naturopathic physician Dr. Garret Swetlikoff and local gluten-free baking enthusiast Elana

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., gluten-free food sampling will take place throughout the store, with offerings from all 18 of Choices‘ event co-sponsors.

Food sampling is free and open to the public.

Members from the local chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association will be on hand all day to offer resources and helpful suggestions to anyone with Celiac disease or gluten intolerance.
