Controllable online Christmas lights for Celiac

by David Fowler

For the past several years, Alek Komarnitsky has put together an unusual way to raise awareness of Celiac Disease: online controllable Christmas lights.

He’s set-up over 20,000 lights around his home. Users can then control them with their mice and see the results on his three live web cams. You can even inflate and deflate his inflatables!

The awareness campaign runs annual from American Thanksgiving to January 1st between 4 and 9 pm.

On his website, Alek says his kids Dirk and Kyle have Celiac Disease and seeks donations on behalf of the University of Maryland Center for Celiac Research.
