The Vancouver Sun recently ran a story on the other side of the allergens labeling debate, the companies who must abide by them.
Vancouver microbrewer Barry Benson says it is absurd for him to have to label his beer “Allergy and intolerance information: Contains barley.”
He says it is self-evident that beer contains barley and that most with Celiac Disease are well educated to know so. He estimates it will cost him $10,000 to comply with the new proposed regulations.
