A beautiful day for our November potluck

It was a beautiful day for our November potluck.   Thirty attended the yummy potluck at the Winfield Seniors Activity Centre in Lake Country.

After lunch, a reluctant Eleanor, Chapter VP,  graciously took the con and lead us through the chapter meeting , introducing our first time guests and bringing us up to speed on Chapter activities.  Chapter President Irene was away at a Canadian Celiac Association national board meeting.

Some topics we discussed:

  • How long it takes to get an appointment with a gastroenterologist for a biopsy;
  • Celiac aware GPs;
  • Getting new member info kits out to local dietitians to replace the old ones; and,
  • Our annual Christmas dinner in a few weeks time.

Our next meeting is December 2nd at noon for our annual Christmas dinner.  Remember, this is the event where you bring nothing and the executive serves you a gluten-free Christmas meal as a fundraiser.  Children 5 and under are free. Children 6 – 16 years are $7.00.  Adults are $20.00. Non-members are $25.00   Mail payment to Kelowna Chapter of CCA, PO Box 21031, Kelowna, B.C, V1Y 9N8  We’re Limited to 60 people. Sign-up soon to avoid disappointment.

Don’t forget, the Kelowna Celi-Yak discussion group meets at Choices the 2nd Tuesday evening of every month 6:30-7:30 pm. The next meeting is December 8th, 2011.  For further info please call Mary Hicks at  Mary.Hicks@interiorhealth.ca
