Gluten Free Food Donations For Salvation Army

by Irene Thompson Wiseman

I want to wish everyone all the best of the holiday season. I was not at the Christmas potluck on December 6th – the first meeting or event that I have missed in I think about 10 years. Clarence and I are on a South American cruise. I know it will be different not to have our families to celebrate the holidays with. We will sure miss each and every one of them. The another first for me will be not cooking Christmas dinner as I have done for the past 40 years or so.

salvation-army-logoI wanted to update you on what the executive have decided to do with some of the funds that we have in our chapter. We have donated a total of $200.00 to the Salvation Army for the purchase of gluten free food. We have donated $50 to Penticton, Vernon, Salmon Arm, and Kelowna area Salvation Army facilities. Members in each of these locations did the shopping and delivered the goodies.

Merry Christmas to each and everyone. I also want to say a special thank you to the executive for all their hard work and suggestions over the past year.
