The Kelowna May 2nd meeting was well attended. Approximately 40 were on hand to share in one of our most delicious potlucks to date.

On hand was Joan Haddow Hohenstein from the Canadian Fruitful Tree Company. Joan described a variety of dried fruit products their small Kelowna company offered. All their products come from B.C. with no added sugar, additives, coloring or fats. Most of her products are gluten and nut-free.

We bought some of Joan’s Cinnamon apple crisps, and the bag was empty before we made it home. Very yummy!

Joan said to look for her products at Save On Foods. (One other quick note, Save On Foods now has shelf tags to indicate which items are gluten-free.)

Joan is still working on a website, but you can contact her at or call 250-762-6797 You can also look at this retail product list she brought to the meeting in PDF form.

Thanks to all for presenting me with the volunteer of the year award. I’ll wear my new tag with pride!

Editor’s note: Joan has sent us a revised price list. Click here to see it. Joan notes that on advice from our chapter she has also removed Kamut from all her recipes to be gluten-free.
