September’s potluck and meeting Sunday saw about 22 attend, down from our usual 30 for a September meeting.

The nice weather and busy time of year for many families perhaps kept you away?

A good time was had by all.  Check out the photos above for some of the yummy gluten-free food that you  missed.

See you at our next meeting, Sunday November 4th, 2012 12 pm.  This is also our AGM where we’ll be discussing some important Chapter ByLaw changes.  Please mark your calendar to attend!

9th Annual Celiac June Fundraiser Luncheon

We will be a having a pizza and dessert luncheon this year!

Where: Our regular meeting place – Seniors Activity Centre, 9832 Bottom Lake Road, Lake Country

What:  The executive will be providing the gluten-free pizza, salads and ice cream. There will be 3 choices: including vegetarian. Please bring your favorite brownies for dessert!

Cost:  There will be a $10 charge for 10 and over.   Children 9 and under FREE!  Charges must be prepaid.    Cheques can be sent to our mailbox. PO Box 21031-Kelowna, B.C, V1Y 9N8  We appreciate you paying by the June 3rd.

Guest speaker will be Jenn Hobbs a consultant for Epicure will be doing a presentation at our meeting before we have lunch so if you could arrive shortly after 12 pm that would be great.   Epicure has a good selection of gluten-free products.

Please bring your gluten-free potluck dishes, with recipes and/or sources. All food brought for the luncheon MUST be gluten-free!

Please bring your gluten-free potluck dishes, with recipes and/or sources. All food brought for the luncheon must be gluten-free!

The Canadian Fruitful Tree Company (Kelowna) will be making a presentation after lunch with samples and product info.  All their products are natural, gluten, nut and lactose free.  They are processed without the use of any additives or preservatives. 100% B.C. / Canadian fruits and berries.

Dr. Brent Barlow's Naturopathic Presentation

About 40 members attended Sunday’s potluck lunch at the Winfeld Senior’s Activity Centre in Lake Country.

Guest speaker Brent Barlow gave us a terrific 45 minute run down on what Naturopathic medicine is, and how it can help Celiacs.  If you missed it, check our his web site at http://naturopathichealthcare.ca/

After the meeting we enjoyed nummy gluten-free meal not to mention dessert.  The business meeting ended the Mother’s Day get together.

The next meeting will be a BBQ on June 13th.  Don’t miss it.  Benefit from the opportunity to network with others coping with Celiac Disease.
